We live not too far from the fairgrounds, so we like to go at sundown to see everything bathed in the pretty light, then get to see the sparkle of everything lit up at night. It really is the perfect time, especially since we don't really ride anything, just look at exhibits and eat/drink.
Me and my Dad always joked that we wish we could find the food that tastes like what the fair smells like. Some say it is funnel cake, but I'm not a fan. It is such a strange smell of cotton candy, funnel cake, and deep fried stuff on a stick. There's a scent for Yankee Candle!
The steps up to the porch at my parents' house.
KC's grandmother's house has the most gorgeous backyard. She has a tremendous green thumb, I think she can grow anything. This was taken the first time we went back to visit since the night his grandfather died.
The bottled drinks at Cracker Barrel reminded me of my wedding.
Looking up through the sunroof on the way back from Atlanta for a friend's wedding.
Working construction means there's often quite a bit of destruction before we eh, construct anything. That means metal, and metal can be turned into this scrap yard for quite a bit of cash sometimes. Plus, it gets recycled. Win, win!
I was incredibly surprised when I took this at how great it came out on a camera phone. I had good 6PM lighting, waiting for KC to run an errand in Walmart, playing around with my phone in the car.
We went to a family friends' condo for 4th of July last year to watch the fireworks on Pensacola Beach. While the downtown display is much more impressive, There's nothing like the view! Then we got stuck in traffic for 3 hours trying to leave the island. Luckily this year we will be staying at the condo for a week and a half on vacation, so no need to drive anywhere afterward!
