The Cure for Congestivfluitis: Get Real... Estate

When you're sick, there are small comforts that just seem to ease your mind and pass the time. Small comforts like potato soup, clean sheets, Netflix, a loyal pet, or throat lozenges.

All of those things are normal. What is decidedly not all together "normal" or "healthy" is plopping your laptop onto your lap and ogling real estate websites.

What is this strange behavior I have stumbled upon? I don't even remember when it started! All I know is that when I'm feeling down, it is my strange creature comfort. I put on my pajamas and I view the MLS of a random city in the U.S. usually starting with the mega mansions in coastal towns.

I gawk at giant kitchens and closets the size of a McDonalds. I laugh at lattice wall treatments, emerald green carpeting, and wallpaper borders hosting a family of bonnet-wearing geese and ganders.

My favorite was a lavish enclosed back porch with a multi-thousand dollar two story tall pool cage with glass walls, and a gorgeous grotto looking area fit for the Little Mermaid herself. The waterslide curved downward, ending just a foot above the big, spacious, refreshing looking... pool filled in with concrete. What?! This is Florida! What's wrong with you?!

I will never understand that tragedy.
